I have horizontal stretch marks on my legs that are very clear and not white or red, but if you look closely i do have them. Does it always mean that I gained weight or ?

Nope.
How old are you? A lot of girls get them in their teens when their body is growing and changing shape. Perfectly normal.

No! Although the cause of stretch marks is attributed to many things, the actual reasons are a little hazy. However, any fluctuation or change in body mass or height can cause stretch marks. So especially during puberty and pregnancy.
So even if you’ve rapidly lost weight or got a lot taller, this can lead to stretch marks. The marks are usually a red color when they are easiest to tackle. Once they start going clear, this will mean they have been around a while.
You need to improve your skin’s elasticity and moisture to reduce the appearance of the stretch marks. The most affordable option would be to find a cream high in Vitamin E and collagen.
The best solution currently for stretch marks is probably laser treatment. However, you are looking at around $600-$700 per treatment session and approximately 5 or 6 sessions before your stretch marks are completely gone!

I have them on my legs from when I was growing up. I hadn’t put on loads of weight, but I did have a bit of a growth spurt and because it happened so quiclkly it gave me stretch marks. They;ve faded now and can barely notice them.
You can sometimes get them if you loose a lot of weight. It’s the continous expanding ang decreasing in the skin that causes it to tear underneath and leads to stretch marks

Those are not stretch marks but are a start of cellulite fats gained from lack of exercise on those muscle area. If you just take them for granted you will have a hard time removing them. So take time to exercise to reduce those flabs and be fit. Remember no pain no gain.

They could have been caused as you were growing, which means your skin was streching and most likely you were gaining weight at the time. That doesn’t necessarily mean you have gained weight recently especially if they are small and don’t have a lot of color.

No not always. Growth can cause them and so can puberty, especially in women. Puberty causes a womans body to become rounder in the hips, thighs, stomach etc so stretch marks on the legs could just be from that.

Yeah, usually. But, don’t worry 99.9% of women have them. It’s completely normal. You can also get them if you gain muscle too quickly.
