Maybe it’s a stupid question because the stomach is growing either way but the chemical and biological processes must be very different. I gained a lot of weight and then lost it through diet and fitness. The stretch marks are unchanged. Are my options any better or different than women’s options after a pregnancy?

No different a stretch mark is a stretch mark no matter how you got it.
They are the same thing. It’s all about the stretching of the skin. The treatment would be the same as after pregnancy. The difference I can think of is that pregnant women know stretch marks are coming, so they can do cocoa butter rubs as they grow to help diminish the marks. With weight gain you don’t always realize it’s coming on until it’s there.
it is the same
why doesnt matter because its just in your skin
stretch marks are caused bu the collagin elastin in your skin, when your body grows (growing, baby, weight) your skin cant stretch fast enough and the collagin tears, making the marks
they are all the same no matter where they are
They are all considered stretch marks, all it is the skin stretching regardless of how it got stretched. The same thing goes for steroid users who bulked up too quickly. SO pregnancy, weight gain or muscle weight gain it is all stretch marks.
