A friend of mine from a famous metal band in the 80’s had a thing of dry ice and he swears it removed some of his wrinkles after he stuck his face in it. Any MD’s out there who can attest to this?

Not an MD, but I’m a nurse in med school… regardless, dry ice isn’t going to do anything to fight wrinkles. Anti-aging products work by theoretically either slowing the aging process (skin cells dying) or by adding certain elements to your skin (such as retinoids, alpha hydroxy acids, collagen, what have you) to give your skin what it is lacking. Dry ice doesn’t fall into either of these categories in any way shape or form.

You might want to try posting in Health, but I’d say no. If that were true, people everywhere would be doing it as dry ice is much cheaper than surgery or most of the products out there for wrinkle reduction.
Not to mention dry ice burns the skin so direct contact isn’t suggested.
Sounds like another silly myth to me…sorry.

Not an MD but “famous metal band in the 80’s” should be the first clue that you need to actually call a doctors office and ask if this is fact or possibly a drug induced vision, before you try anything like this.

If you touch dry ice or put it on bare skin, it will remove the skin, so I guess it does remove wrinkles…you said the 80s? I think your friend was high.

Your better off asking your doctor. I know dry ice burns off warts and leaves a mini scar from the dry ice burning it off..
