I mean I’m 16 and I see the women in their 40’s using creams and crap that doesn’t do anything to their skin.
Why are people obsessed with looking 20? Am I the only girl who’s accepted that I’ll have wrinkles in the future because that’s a fact of life? Why are humans so face obsessed and superficial now days? It’s like looking mature is a really bad thing.

The best way to keep a youthful look is to use preventative measures, like sunscreen and moisturizers. These women have probably not kept their skin looking nice and are trying to play catch up. Some creams actually give some results, but they are costly and have to be used everyday.
Moisturizing can help keep wrinkles at bay, but yes, you will get some. But they don’t have to be horrible deep ones.
I don’t see any problem in using a product or two to keep your face looking nice. It’s the only thing you can’t really hide, so why not feel confident about it? It’s not really that different from using acne medications or wearing makeup. :) Or, heck, wearing clothes that flatter your figure.
But I do agree that some people are way too superficial. I see things like skin bleaching and face lifts and it freaks me out. I mean, have you ever seen a face lift operation? Why on earth would you put yourself through that?
I’ll stick with my Apricot scrub and Velocity moisturizer and I think I’ll be just fine. :)

Because of television and all of the celebrities, and men being visual and always checking women out. Women compete with each other for men, and that combined with the perfect looking people in the mags and tv, it makes us want to keep our youth. You get used to getting second looks, getting attention in public. The older we get, the less attention we attract. And for some, this is really difficult. I am 35 and like you, I am comfortable with myself and getting older. However, when you start to notice wrinkles creeping in around your mouth, eyes, etc…it is not a happy day…and makes you want to try to slow the wrinkle wagon.

You’re not the only one, but remember this is how you feel now. Wait until you’re in your 40’s. You might think different.
