Palmer’s Stretch Mark Cream/Lotion. I lotioned up from shoulders to my knees every day after my shower. Never got the first stretch mark. Also, stay away from sugar and especially caffeine. It will dehydrate you hence drying your skin. Be sure to drink LOTS of water.
Palmer’s also makes an oil spray for stretch marks. I used that alot too. I put in my bath water until I couldn’t take baths anymore!
Congrats and good luck!!!

I don’t think anything prevents stretch marks. It’s just that either you are lucky and don’t get them or you do.

Mederma
Cocoa Butter
Vitamin E oil
Ambroderm
Lubriderm
All of these help, but there is no proof that they prevent stretch marks. Creams and oils mainly just help with the itching that you get when you a pregnant.

you can not prevent stretch marks if you are prone to get them. this is coming straight from my doctor. i thought i wasn’t going to get them because i didn’t have one until i was almost 8 months and then they took their toll on me. i have so many now, my stomach looks like a poor road map! i bought some cocoa butter but i never used it because i knew it wouldn’t do any good according to what my doctor told me. i think all the lotion really does for you is relieve the itchiness and burning. the only thing out there to get rid of stretch marks is surgery and that’s way too expensive!

I don’t believe it’s in the genes, but in the care of the skin. Reason? I was afraid to get pregnant because my mom’s tummy looked like a road map. When I asked her what happened she said “you, your sister and brother!” I was like whoa! So when I found out I was pregnant with both of my children I kept my skin as moist as possible from the very beginning. I used real cocoa butter in the stick form. You can still get it from some health stores. You break off a little piece and warm in your hands. (It’s like a white chocolate bar) I also used it on my derriere and breasts, back of legs and arms. I am proud to say that at 47 I have no marks on my tummy! My sister did the same thing and ended up with only minute marks. Also, try to gain your weight very gradually, that helps as well. Good luck!

The only thing that can prevent stretch marks is one’s genes!! Sorry. Absolutely nothing on the market will eliminated them OR make them appear less visible. Putting cream on your belly, however, will help in the itching that you will soon be experiencing!..

I called my dermatologist on this one when I was in the same position. I was told there isn’t any definite way to avoid them. Sure Palmer’s Cocoa butter can help and its sold in several forms. Basically, if your new ‘bump’ grows quickly, its hard to avoid. One tip to rake into consideration, if you have a pierced naval, REMOVE IT A.S.A.P! I left mine in as long as possible (7 months) and now have a scar from it. Get it re-pierced if need-be. (Better than a scar)…
